Bowling Party

Having a summer baby means that throwing birthday parties is a challenge to get big groups of school friends. Because of this, we have always kept the youngest birthday small with a few really good friends whose parents I knew well. This also means that we aren't spending as much on big parties with lots of friends, so we can do more cost types of parties in exchange. I'm a big everything must be fair kind of mom. For this birthday, I wanted to take the bowling theme because he was really into going bowling, and make it have a mommie twist so he still felt like I was putting in effort. I made him a chocolate two-tier cake with bowling pins made of dried fondant, stars also made of dried fondant on wire, so they are floating. To get the color lines on the details, I used a paintbrush and gel food coloring while the fondant was wet, and let them dry for about a week before putting the cake together. I made centerpieces for the table with my Cricut using files I found on https://www.misskatecuttables.com/products.php?search#google_vignette. For party favors, I did something just like this TikTok video,  https://www.tiktok.com/@carolinaashworth/video/7207228794510282027. I placed them in a cheap Dollar Tree laundry basket (wish I had remembered to take pictures of them). My son and his friends had a great time, and he still felt special because of the few little things I did to make his party special.
