Time

It's been a while since I last posted anything on this blog. When I joined Facebook, it was easier to share my crafty stuff with family and friends over there. The thing is with most things, and that is change, and Facebook isn't what it used to be, where friends shared stories and events in their lives. It's mostly ads, and not many people post anymore. With that said, I'm thinking I might go back to trying the BLOG to share my crafting and home remodeling, as well as fun things that my family does, as my littles aren't little anymore, and my husband and I are finding ourselves in a new season of life.

As the kids grew, we as a family had some major challenges in life, with our daughter getting cancer (ALL), my in-laws both passing away a month apart, to the kids all finishing high school and starting college. While they were difficult at the time, we grew and learned that family is truly the glue that holds you together in those darkest of times.

As for our daughter and cancer, she is a healthy 23-year-old who is now cancer-free and clinically cured. She went through 2.5 years of hard chemo every day with to many procedures to count as well as hospital stays. Through it all, she was able to graduate from high school in the top 80% and is now going to college to be an electrical engineer.

As with all families, COVID was hard, and we were no different. Right after our daughter's treatment finished, the world was hit with a lockdown and COVID-19. While most found it hard to adjust to not going places for us, it was the way of life all threw treatment, and we continued on just glad that she wasn't in treatment anymore. But just like most families, COVID was hard on my in-laws, as it was hard to help them when they needed us the most, and doctor visits were hard to advocate as visitors were not allowed to attend. It was during this time that we lost them both, not to COVID but to cancer and Alzheimer's.

With the hard times came the good; we finally got our dream travel trailer and truck, which we have been traveling around the western United States exploring in. We also have a 37-foot sailboat, which my husband has been offshore racing for the past 4 years. While we have had ups and downs, it has always been family that is the most important glue.

So for now I'm going to try and post some of the things that I have down in the past few years as my crafting has really changed into more home improvement, as well as what I did before.
